About Rick Ruiz
Enrique Ruiz (aka Rick Ruiz) is a contributing member of the Institute of Certified Professional Managers (ICPM).He serves as one of the ICPM Board of Regents members tasked with planning, executing and advocacy of ICPM objectives worldwide. He also serves, as a contributing member to the ICPM Exam Board helping to refresh the Certified Manager (CM) exam keeping it up-to-date and pertinent with marketplace needs. Rick holds a CM credential in addition to both a Program Management Professional (PgMP) credential from the Project Management Institute and a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) credential from the Society for Diversity; Rick also serves as a Board member for the Society for Diversity. His global expertise spans commercial, defense and IT industries on two continents.
He has a successful track record of building diverse, dynamic and multicultural teams with workforces up to 15,000 strong. As a Hispanic American that has lived in 3 countries and worked in four he brings unique, effective and germane insight into the organizations he serves. Rick is fluent in Spanish, yet studied other languages and engaged in several faiths. As a published author of four books, he spans key personal motivation tenets (www.BuildingALeader.com) to Relationships. As the Operations Manager for the 2010 Census he managed a $Billion operation with data centers and call centers across the country. He also served in leadership roles for both the 2006 Canadian Census, 2001 United Kingdom Census and managed a diverse workforce (3,000 strong) in the US 2000 Census. His program management, engineering, manufacturing and training skills blend real-world experience to yield exceptional customer satisfaction results. He has held operations, manufacturing, quality assurance, and sales management positions as well as mechanical and systems engineering roles with several large international firms such as Lockheed Martin, Tokuyama Soda, Dyncorp, Fujitsu Services and GM Hughes Electronics.
Some of Rick’s work involves tactical laser weapons manufacturing, high volume electronic manufacturing for worldwide components and specialty
product fabrication for satellite, defense and Information Technology projects. He has earned accolades and awards in every position. Rick earned a specialty certification in Laser Electro-Optics technology in the 80′s, followed by a BS in Business and an MBA from Heriot-Watt University in the United Kingdom. He is a member of Mensa, the National Management Association (NMA1.org) and has been a volunteer mentor for StreetwisePartners.org in Washington DC and is a Maryland Business Roundtable for Education (MBRT.org) speaker at local schools. He is known for his enthusiasm and passion in the public arena as a keynote speaker, yet he revels equally in the quietude at home with his wife, and six children.
